The United States is the only developed nation that does not regulate drug prices. American consumers pay much more for their prescription drugs than any other country in the World. In fact, a 2003 study by the U.S. Department of Commerce International Trade Administration compared the U.S. prices of a list of fifty four prescription drugs with the prices in nine other countries and found that the prices in these nine other countries were eighteen to sixty seven % lower than the U.S. prices.
The USA Drug Plan is a division of the
Community Assistance Program that reaches out to States and communities such as Vermont by offering a free discount drug card that provide savings on prescription medications. The program is simple! just print the card online and start saving immediately. There are no forms to fill out nor is there a fee to use the pharmacy card.
The average savings range from 15 to 55 percent when used at one of the participating pharmacies.
